Off to Lithuania

So my holiday has officially begin and I celebrated it with a lie-in! I spent my morning tidying my room and packing as I am flying off to Lithuania this afternoon. I'll be back on Tuesday and catch everyone up with all the shenanigans. Wish me luck...

Holi-moly that’s a lot of colour

I hope everyone had a great weekend; mine, for one was very colourful. I had another busy week which included catch-up drinks with Edita at Corney & Barrow and an amazing dinner at Tyyabs (already bragged about here) to celebrate my mum’s up-and-coming birthday.

I had no major plans for the weekend but when a spare ticket became available for the Holi Festival of Colours at Battersea, I had to go! So, after a lazy, relaxing morning, me and Natz put on some light-coloured, sparkly clean clothing, had a little too much wine (and gin) and made our way to Battersea Power Station. The atmosphere was amazing and the festival is something that I have never experienced before. It was awesome to see everyone jumping around, dancing and throwing powdered colour all around! All in all, I had an awesome time, until I lost my phone. I left earlier than Natz since I was too worried about my phone and just wanted to call my network and cancel my contract, but phone issues aside, it was a fab day/evening out and something that I would absolutely love to go to again!
Pre-paint, crystal-clean
As for today, my morning was spent waiting until the shops opened, so I could buy a new phone, then enjoying Domino’s pizza over movies and then a tennis match with Richard who has been visiting London at the weekend. Overall, it has been another great weekend and I can predict that I will spend the week getting rid of all this paint that still hasn’t washed off, despite two, extra-long showers!
Hope everyone has a great week!

Domesticated weekend

After a hectic couple of weekends, a busy week and an exhausting, mental Friday, a mellow, relaxed weekend was exactly what I needed and what I got.

I had an early start on Saturday and had a very productive morning. Having sorted out bits and bops around the flat, I headed up to Westfield in Shepherd’s Bush. I managed to control myself and not buy anything at all but spent the day mooching around. Not being used to lazy weekends, I went a bit stir-crazy once I got home. Since I had a bit of a headache and wasn’t feeling great, leaving again wasn’t something I wanted to do so I spent the evening, enjoying movie night with Mark.

I had another productive morning on Sunday, after which I headed up to Clapham, to meet up with my lovely friend Rosie. We spent the afternoon in Birdhouse, over some delicious steak sandwiches and some amazing banana bread for dessert (definitely coming back for the banana bread!) Birdhouse is definitely on my to-visit-again list. The place was so cute with delicious food! Yum! After our long catch-up, I headed back home and had a very domestic evening, making a roast dinner for Mark and Natz, followed by some carrot cake for dessert. It wasn’t the best roast (or cake) that I have ever made but it was great to cook a proper meal again and especially when it wasn’t just for myself.
Overall, another successful weekend has come and gone. Hope everyone has a fab week!
